Chakra. You may be familiar with the word, you may have heard about it in your yoga class or in books on the philosophy of yoga, but what exactly are chakras? Chakra is a word that comes from Sanskrit which means wheel or circle, which describes a place filled with energy that is located in the center of our body.

There is a lot of detailed information about the chakras and their importance. Also, find out about Binaural Beats. There are seven main chakras and each corresponds to a different spectrum of light. The following is an explanation of the main chakras:

The root chakra is our grounding and grounded feeling. It is located at the base of the spine, the coccyx. Emotional issues located in this chakra include financial freedom, money, and food.
The sacral chakra contains connections and the ability to accept other people and new experiences. It is located in the lower abdomen, about 2 inches below the belly button and 2 inches. The emotional issues associated with the sacred chakra are a sense of abundance, well-being, pleasure, and sexuality.
Surya chakra, my plexus is our ability to be confident and in control of our lives. It is located in the upper abdomen in abdomen. The emotional issues that lie here are self-esteem, self-confidence, and self-respect.
The heart chakra motivates our ability to love. It is located in the center of the chest just above the heart. The emotional issues connected to this area are love, joy, and inner peace.
The throat chakra contains our ability to communicate. The emotional issues connected to this area are communication, self-expression of feelings, and truth.
The third eye chakra is our ability to focus on the big picture. It’s on between the eyes. Emotional issues in this area are intuition, imagination, wisdom, ability to think and make decisions.
The crown chakra is the highest chakra and represents our ability to fully connect spiritually. It is located at the very top of the head. Emotional issues include inner and outer beauty, our connection to spirituality, and pure happiness.
